Photographing the Seasons

I am a photographer living in the Cévennes, a remote and rugged region of Southern France. It is a place of sweet chestnut and ancient beech forests, gorges of limestone, granite outcrops and waterfalls, valleys of perfumed heather and olive trees. My photographs are inspired by these dramatic landscapes and infused with nature’s rich colour palette.

I like to reveal moments of quiet drama - speckles of sunlight on a single flower, or perhaps the parting of clouds after a rain storm. Seeing these shifts of light and deepening shadows, hearing a rustle of leaves in the wind, instils a feeling of connection and well-being. This is what I hope to convey in my photographs.

Stories of the Cévennes

Inspired by the changing seasons I decided to write some stories of life in the Cévennes, so I wrote a monthly journal for a year. And still I find I have more to say. So here they are and more besides…
